Being an NBA mascot can be tough.

Atlanta Hawks mascot Harry the Hawk was trying to do his job, and entertain some fans during Tuesday’s Game 2 matchup against the Boston Celtics. As the play was going on behind him, Harry thought it would be a good idea to attempt to jump a barricade. He wobbled his way to the gap and jumped. Unfortunately, it didn’t go as planned. Harry didn’t stick the landing, instead, he slipped upon reaching the other side, awkwardly crushing his nuts into a railing, prompting many to recoil in pain right with him.

If experiencing the crippling pain wasn’t enough, Harry’s entire painful ordeal was caught on camera.

Here’s a better angle from Rembert Browne on Twitter:

Harry should be applauded for attempting to make the jump. It’s certainly embarrassing and won’t make his personal highlight reel anytime soon, but as Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take.” He missed the shot, but it was a valiant attempt. He clearly experienced quite a bit of pain after failing to land it, but his showmanship didn’t suffer.

Harry’s said to be day-to-day with a bruised ego, but he’ll likely make the trip to Atlanta should Game 5 prove necessary. What a trooper.
