Cavs Hippos

As sports teams continue to look for new and fun ways to entertain and reward fans during breaks in the action, the Cleveland Cavaliers are turning to a classic game from all of our younger days. The Cavs are playing Hungry Hungry Hippos with humans, and it’s pretty fun to watch!

The premise is simple. One fan, dressed in appropriate hippo costume, lays down on a platform with wheels and reaches out with a bucket. Another fan holds the first by the feet and pushes them into the middle of the court so they can gather as many balls as they can with their bucket. It is the same concept but a tad larger than when the United States gymnastics team played a scaled-up version of the game on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

Whichever fan comes up with the most balls wins a gift card to the team store. Not bad!

It’s a good thing the Cavs chose Hungry, Hungry Hippos for this game. Honestly, a fan game of Operation could lead to some unfortunate results.
