It’s not strange to see an average Joe do an in-arena proposal during a sporting event. But for those at Tuesday’s Atlanta Hawks game, they got a preview of what it looks like for a successful person to do that.
During Tuesday’s game between the Hawks and New Orleans Pelicans, the rapper Gucci Mane decided it was the perfect time to propose to his girlfriend Keyshia Ka’oir. The moment was pretty sweet for an in-arena proposal.

Though in-game proposals are usually pretty damn stupid, this isn’t half-bad. They’re both dressed nicely, and she seems legitimately happy. I’m still convinced most of these proposals occur because the guy thinks the girl can’t say no if she’s on the big screen.
But regardless, it’s a very nice moment. As the New York Times reported earlier this year, Gucci Mane’s relationship wasn’t always perfect, but he’s appreciative of what his new fiance has gone through and stuck with him:
“We had our ups and downs, ’cause I would mess up and do stupid junk, but she had my back through all of it,” Gucci said.
Here’s to a happy future and not as many Hawks’ losses to the Pelicans at home. Yeesh.
