There is only one J.R. Smith. And on Tuesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers shooting guard provided us with a highlight only he could be capable of.

During a game in Milwaukee, Smith and the Cavaliers were on defense. For reasons only known to J.R., he made his way to the baseline to give veteran guard Jason Terry a hug. The only problem was that Smith chose to engage in the embrace during live game action. Smith’s man Tony Snell scored an easy basket with a dunk thanks to Smith’s absence from the court.

Iman Shumpert’s reaction is everything.

Smith must have drawn his inspiration from this episode of The Simpsons when Drederick Tatum was pounding Homer Simpson’s cranium into oblivion and took a timeout to talk to actor Charlie Sheen.

We’re only left to wonder if Smith was talking with Terry about his disdain for shirts, his newfound love of Ohio State football, or stupendous blackened sea bass.

UPDATE: J.R. Smith’s explanation of the moment may have been the best part.
