Steven Adams can’t catch a break.

During Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, the Oklahoma City Thunder center was defending Draymond Green in the post, when he fouled the Warriors forward on a shot attempt. Unfortunately for Adams, when he committed the foul, Green swung his leg up in the air and kicked him right in the nuts. It was a direct hit.

Ouch. That would hurt. The moment was captured perfectly via photo.

The crazy thing is this isn’t even the first time in the series Adams was kicked where it hurts by Green. In Game 2, when Green was driving to the net on a fast break, he kneed Adams is the groin, buckling the New Zealand big man.

That was incidental contact, but Sunday’s nut shot sure seemed intentional.

Green was given a flagrant 1 on the play, but since he was fouled on the kick, he was the one who shot free throws first. It was a strange sequence.

It will be interesting to see if the NBA punishes Green for the hit. Dahntay Jones of the Cleveland Cavaliers was suspended earlier in the day for an intentional punch to Toronto Raptors center Bismack Biyombo’s groin. The difference was Jones hit was without a doubt intentional. Green’s probably was too, but it happened in a game situation and while he was fouled. He’s also got star power. It’s more likely the NBA fines him.

As for Adams, he’s one tough cookie.
