New Orleans Pelicans star forward Zion Williamson has missed the entire 2021-22 NBA season while rehabbing from a fractured foot (and last offseason’s surgery), and it was reported on Monday that he’s expected to miss the remainder of the season. The Pelicans are understandably being extremely cautious with Williamson — after several setbacks — and decided it’s not worth it to bring him back with just 11 games remaining.
However, if a video Williamson posted to his Instagram on Tuesday night is any indication, it appears that he’s getting back his otherworldly athleticism and explosion.
In the video, Williamson does an off-the-backboard pass to himself, and then he throws down a between-the-legs dunk.

That’s a great reminder of the incredible things that Williamson is capable of doing on the basketball court, and hopefully we get to see him healthy for NBA games next season.
In the 2020-21 NBA season, Williamson — the No. 1 overall pick of the 2019 draft — averaged 27.0 points (with a 61.1 field goal percentage), 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. His 27.1 Player Efficiency Rating (PER) ranked fourth in the NBA.
