United States President Donald Trump is a lover of sports, which made his decision not to attend the Super Bowl this year after the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny and Green Day as the musical headliners for Super Bowl LIX quite surprising.
After all, it was just last season when Trump became the first sitting President to attend the Super Bowl. However, the President has made his disdain with the league’s musical selections crystal clear, saying, “I think it’s a terrible choice. All it does is sow hatred. Terrible.”
Shockingly, the President isn’t completely deviating from tradition due to his displeasure, as he’s done many times before. An NBC press release revealed that Trump will be sitting down with anchor Tom Llamas for a one-on-one interview prior to Super Bowl LX.
“NBC News’ Tom Llamas will sit down with President Donald Trump for a one-on-one exclusive interview at the White House tomorrow, Wednesday, February 4,” NBC revealed in a press release.
“A portion of the wide-ranging interview will air on NBC Nightly News with Tom Llamas at 6:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. CT, and an extended version will stream on Top Story with Tom Llamas on NBC News NOW at 7 p.m. ET.”
Fans reacted to the announcement on social media.
“When is this showing? Trying to make sure I know when not to watch NBC,” one person wrote on Twitter.
“Just give advance notice so we can flip the channel as we all could use a tRump-free day,” someone else added.
“Of course. He ruins literally everything,” one fan added.
It’ll be interesting to see what Trump has to say after what’s been a disastrous start to his second term in office.
