It’s pretty rare to see a 318-pound guy carrying the football, but Derrick Brown, a 6’5”, 318-pound defensive tackle for the #7 Auburn Tigers, did that on a couple of different occasions on the road Saturday against the #10 Florida Gators. First, with Auburn trailing 7-6 in the first quarter, Tigers’ defensive end Marlon Davidson sacked Florida quarterback Kyle Trask and forced a fumble. Brown scooped that up near the Auburn 23 and rumbled for 42 yards before finally going down (without anyone touching him; he might have had a touchdown otherwise) at the Florida 35.

Then, in the fourth quarter, Brown blew up some blockers, forced a fumble himself, and returned it another 11 yards:

Auburn wound up losing 24-13, so Brown’s efforts weren’t quite enough for a win, but he certainly had an impressive game. And he even got to carry the ball a couple of times.
