College football is often known for it’s unpredictability. After a rather unpredictable weekend, however, Vegas seems to be banking on a very predictable finish in the end.

Bovada has updated their odds on who will win the national championship and after putting Alabama at 11/10 last week, they have given the Crimson Tide even odds to take yet another trophy home.

  • Alabama 1/1
  • Ohio State 5/2
  • Louisville 15/2
  • Clemson 10/1
  • Michigan 10/1
  • Wisconsin 20/1
  • Oklahoma 25/1
  • Washington 33/1
  • West Virginia 50/1
  • Penn State 66/1
  • Oklahoma State 66/1
  • Washington State 66/1
  • Colorado 66/1
  • Utah 66/1
  • Florida 75/1

Despite the narrow path for Ohio State to make the Big 10 Championship, the Buckeyes are the second-most likely team to win the national championship and Vegas is banking on seeing them play Bama at this point. This lends some credence to comments JT Barrett made about the Buckeyes and how he believes they’ll make the College Football Playoff if they win out.

Vegas has also effectively rendered the Heisman race finished as well. Lamar Jackson is the front runner and it isn’t even close. Barring a complete breakdown, they believe he is going to win.

  • Lamar Jackson 1/50
  • Jabrill Peppers 12/1
  • Deshaun Watson 16/1
  • JT Barrett 25/1
  • Jake Browning 40/1

Although the picture is getting much clearer in both cases, the intrigue in the weeks ahead is going to turn up to ridiculous levels. Which teams have resumes to be proud of and which teams will wish they had a better strength of schedule?
