There’s been so much chatter recently around Class of 2023 quarterback Arch Manning and where he’ll attend college next year that it’s easy to lose sight of the fact that he still has another year of high school ahead of him.

Manning recently discussed how he’s feeling heading into his senior season at Isidore Newman in New Orleans. The team fell short in their quest to win a state title last season and he’s hopeful he can go out a champion this time.

“It’s my last spring, so I’m really soaking it all in,” Manning told KPLC. “Yeah, it’s weird. I’m coming up on my 13th year at Newman. It’s definitely exciting, but I don’t want to let it go yet. So I’m really enjoying it.”

Manning also discussed the sport he did win a state title in, basketball.

“Yeah that was exciting,” said Manning. “Winning a state championship with the boys. It was definitely a different experience from football. Kind of coming off the bench, and doing everything you can to help the team win. So it was awesome.”

Manning has been in the news constantly since last year as he’s tried to figure out where he wants to play college football. Alabama, Texas, and Georgia have long been seen as the favorites but LSU, Florida, Ole Miss, and Virginia have been in the mix as well.

After all the visits, interviews, and meetings, does Manning have a sense of where he’s going to commit?

“I don’t know. If I knew I would probably be committed. I don’t. I got to figure that out,” said Manning.

And so we all keep waiting.
