The Arizona State Sun Devils absolutely annihilated the Arizona Wildcats 70-7 on Friday night in Tucson to keep the Territorial Cup. The opening kickoff summarized how this game would go, with Arizona State’s D.J. Taylor taking it 100-plus yards to the house.

Arizona State led 14-0 just 56 seconds into the game, and had a 42-0 lead with 5:25 to go in the second quarter.

Sun Devils running back Rachaad White had 10 carries for 133 yards (13.3 AVG) and three touchdowns. One of those touchdowns went for 93 yards.

As a team, Arizona State had 50 carries for 259 yards and seven touchdowns. Their final score of the night came on a touchdown run from Jackson He, making him the first Chinese-born player to score a touchdown in FBS history.

This was actually Arizona State’s first win of the season; they entered the night 0-2.

As for Arizona, well, yikes. They end the season with an 0-5 record, and took things to another level of awful on Friday night. Head coach Kevin Sumlin is officially on the hot seat, if he wasn’t already.

But the Sun Devils’ dominating performance surely made head coach Herm “Hello? You play to win the game!” Edwards quite happy.
