An absolutely massive, stunning upset in the world of college softball took place on Monday night.
The sixth-ranked Arkansas Razorbacks apparently weren’t ready to handle business against local rival Central Arkansas. The UCA Bears edged the Razorbacks in a stunning upset, earning a 2-1 victory.
Arkansas had only three recorded losses going into the night. The Hogs were a perfect 6-0 the previous week, but none of that mattered at all to the Bears.
Before the night, UCA had never recorded an upset like this. Prior to Monday, the highest-ranked team UCA had ever defeated was a 14th-ranked LSU Tigers squad according to a release. Now, though, they can claim victory over the sixth-ranked Razorbacks.
The UCA program celebrated the victory after the final out was made. “DOWN GOES #6 ARKANSAS!!!” they exuberantly tweeted.
