With conference play starting across college basketball, I doubt you were keyed in on Thursday’s game between Auburn and Georgia.

Well, if by some miracle you were, you got some comedy to go along with some subpar basketball.

With his team trailing by 11 points with 1:39 to go in the game, Tiger senior guard T.J. Dunans attempted to sneak into the Bulldogs’ huddle during a timeout. While some might have tried — and failed — this as a previous prank, Dunans actually succeeded for a short amount of time. The players mindlessly welcomed him with open arms and the Auburn guard was eventually caught by a Georgia assistant.

This is pretty damn funny. Bulldogs head coach Mark Fox must have been coming up with an extremely captivating play call for neither him nor his players to notice the opposition in their huddle.

When you think about it, there really isn’t much to gain from this sort of behavior, except for a few laughs and clicks on the internet. With Georgia leading by double digits, I’m guessing Fox’s gameplan was “guys, use some clock and maybe get a basket when the shot clock is within five.” Not much originality, especially if you’ve seen the Bulldogs offense operate on a regular basis.

But alas, Dunans still decided to pull this stunt off. Hardly surprising that someone who plays for Bruce Pearl would try to gain a competitive edge.
