The No. 2 Baylor Bears took down the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks on Monday night to improve to 13-0 on the season. Baylor looks ridiculously good (they’re the No. 1 offense and No. 4 defense out of 357 schools, according to Ken Pomeroy’s metrics), and that’s a story in itself (could Baylor be a real threat to Gonzaga in March, for example?).
However, we’re going to focus on a shot to end the game that seemed meaningless, but mattered to some people.
Baylor led 77-66 with 1.9 seconds remaining, when Kansas senior walk-on Chris Teahan — who had three points on the season — banked in a three from the Baylor logo to beat the buzzer. That made it a 77-69 final score.
Well, the Jayhawks were 8.5-point underdogs, so that meaningless three meant that Kansas covered the spread. Brutal.

ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt — the bad beat king — had a terrific tweet in response to the moment, pointing out a very frustrated man at the bottom right of the video.
