The No. 14 North Carolina Tar Heels came away with a wild 89-86 overtime victory over Clemson on Tuesday night at Littlejohn Coliseum, but the bigger story was what happened just seconds after the final whistle of the ACC hoops contest.
Clemson head coach Brad Brownell was very angry as he approached Roy Williams for the postgame handshake, and Williams looked a bit confused before clearly apologizing.
Here’s video of the scene:
So, what caused this anger from Brownell? Multiple reports surfaced after the game that Brownell was upset about North Carolina’s Kennedy Meeks yelling at the Clemson bench:
I'm told Kennedy Meeks was yelling at Clemson's bench and that's why Brownell was giving Roy the business. Roy apologized, apparently.
