Fox Sports college football analyst Brady Quinn stirred up a hornet’s nest with his recent tweets about Texas A&M recruiting.
Last week saw the Alabama Crimson Tide receive commitments from three 5-star recruits, which prompted Quinn (who spent his own college career at Notre Dame) to take a shot at the Aggies’ recruiting in a conversation with LaVar Arrington and Jonas Knox on iHeartMedia’s Two Pros and a Cup of Joe.
“It’s a direct correlation to the microscope has been put on us. We can’t do what we did last year and our recruits look a little different right now. I haven’t seen that dramatic of a swing in recruiting ever. When Nick Saban comes out and basically says, ‘Yeah, dude, you bought that class.’ This justifies it.”
But the Jimbo Fisher-led Aggies haven’t exactly fallen off the map in recruiting. They’d made some impressive moves even before Quinn’s comment, and they landed one 5-star recruit and three 4-star recruits this past week after Quinn’s remarks.
The Aggies have landed commitments from 5-star Anthony Hill (#1 linebacker), 4-star Chase Bisontis (#9 OT), 4-star Dalton Brooks (#5 athlete) & 4-star Colton Thompasson (#30 OT) since Brady Quinn offered up this gem on Texas A&M’s recruiting pic.twitter.com/SR0rkATqe7

Right now, the Aggies’ recruiting class is ranked second only to Alabama in the SEC. So this led to many dragging Quinn (seen above at a NFL game in 2014) on social media and calling him out for his apparent mistake.
Four-star running back Dalton Brooks of Shiner (Texas) High — the No. 67 overall player in the 2023 class — has committed to Texas A&M. That is the second top-100 player of the day and the third of the week.
Remember when people thought their class was going to stink last week?

SEC fans are notorious for roasting anyone who talks about their team. It looks like it’s Brady Quinn’s week to be the one on the fire pit.
