Bret Bielema is a man with many opinions, some good and some bad.

When asked about LSU and Arkansas’ Golden Boot rivalry trophy, he decided to tell it like it is, as he has been known to do.

“It kind of looks like a bad neck chain from the 80s, it’s a little gaudy. It’s a little big. But it’s gold plated.

Let’s take a look.

Bielema is a simple man with simple thoughts. He may be hitting the nail on the head though when talking about the Golden Boot trophy, not to be confused for the award that is given to players at the end of a soccer season.

The rivalry means a lot to the players and supporters of Arkansas but the flippant response from Bielema has to give everyone a chuckle. It isn’t the most attractive piece of hardware, yet it is one of the most fierce rivalries in the conference.

Heck, Bielema even acknowledged the power it has over some of his players.

“People freak out around that Boot, the power of that thing, our players really respond to it.”

Is this the key to Bielema’s mild success? The Boot may need more respect if Arkansas wins it once again.
