Four-star shooting guard prospect Bronny James, the son of NBA megastar LeBron James, has not revealed much about his college recruitment. But after a recent Ohio State recruiting move, one prominent insider seems to think Bronny James will be a Buckeye next season.

On Monday morning, four-star shooting guard George Washington III announced his de-commitment from Ohio State. Given that Washington plays the same position as Bronny and that Bronny just finished a weekend visit to Ohio State, many speculated that the move could indicate that Bronny is going to sign with the Buckeyes.

But it might not just be speculation because prominent college basketball recruiting analyst and insider Andrew Slater of The Athletic seems to think Washington’s de-commitment is indeed related to Bronny James.

“A 6’4” combo who shot 44% from 3 & LeBron’s kid walk in….sometimes, the writing is on the wall, with all due respect,” Slater said, while quote-Tweeting the news of Washington’s de-commitment.

Bronny just finished a weekend visit to Ohio State during which he attended Ohio State’s football game against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The high school phenom got a warm welcome from the crowd as they chanted “we want Bronny.”

If Bronny does sign with the Buckeyes, it would make sense, given his father’s ties to the program. LeBron is a very open Ohio State football fan and regularly gifts the basketball and football teams with gifts like shoes or headphones. He even has a ceremonial locker in the Ohio State basketball locker room and allows the university to sell Buckeye basketball jerseys with his name and number on the back.

Still, until Bronny makes a formal announcement, this is all just speculation.
