With under two minutes to go in the Utah Ute’s 83-75 victory over in-state rival BYU on Wednesday night, BYU freshman guard Nick Emery threw a punch at Utah senior Brandon Taylor:

Emery was issued a flagrant 2 foul, resulting in an immediate ejection.

It’s understandable to be frustrated when on the losing end of a heated rivalry game, but you can’t sucker punch a guy. Below the video broadcast feed.

BYU coach Dave Rose gave his thoughts after the game, acknowledging a likely suspension.

Utah coach, Larry Krystkowiak, as you can imagine was not too pleased.

A suspension would seem likely to come for Emery, and the freshman won’t be in for a pleasant time when he goes up against the Utes again over the next few years.
