Former Oklahoma Sooners quarterback. Caleb Williams is one of the most interesting players currently in the transfer portal. While it might seem as though the USC Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley would be the obvious destination, Williams is clearly deliberating all of his options.
The LSU Tigers reportedly found their way into the mix last week and now a surprising Big Ten school finds themselves with a legitimate shot at landing Williams, according to On3. The Wisconsin Badgers are said to be a “true contender” for the quarterback.
Wisconsin has emerged as a true contender to land quarterback Caleb Williams, per On3's @HamiltonESPN.
According to On3's transfer portal rankings, Williams is the top-rated quarterback and prospect available.

“Wisconsin has emerged as a serious contender to sign former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams from the transfer portal, according to On3’s Gerry Hamilton,” said James Fletcher of On3. “USC and LSU also remain in the running for On3’s No. 1 ranked prospect in the Transfer Portal Rankings.”
Of all the schools considered a solid landing spot for one of the top transfers, Wisconsin has not been considered a top destination. So if they are able to beat out the likes of USC and LSU for Williams’ services, it would be quite the surprise.
The college football world certainly appears to be surprised by the news and is sharing their reactions on social media.

I’d still bet on USC. But how hilarious would it be if Lincoln lost Dart and Caleb https://t.co/lDpPUgApg7

Would love to have Caleb Williams at Wisconsin. Opportunity for him to have a Russell Wilson type of season 👀 https://t.co/EBpwMQewqH

Caleb Williams with a Big Ten offensive line would be scary. https://t.co/1hgV49vogg

Williams finished this past season with 1,912 passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and just four interceptions.
Williams moving to the Big Ten would certainly be quite the gamechanger in the conference. We’ll have to wait and see how it all shakes out to find out where he ends up transferring to.
