Former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky remains in prison on child sexual assault charges, and his son could soon be joining him.

According to WTAJ in Central Pennsylvania as well as other media outlets, 41-year-old Jeffrey Sandusky has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a child after allegedly soliciting naked photos from his girlfriend’s son via text.

The child reportedly showed Sandusky’s messages to his father, who notified police. Sandusky was then kicked out of his girlfriend’s home, where he’d been living for five years. He is currently being held in custody on $200,000 bond.

Per WTAJ, Sandusky has also been accused of abusing a different child in 2013.

Jeffrey Sandusky’s father Jerry Sandusky was sentenced in 2012 to 30-60 years in prison after being found guilty of sexually assaulting kids while serving as Penn State defensive coordinator.

One of Jerry Sandusky’s other sons, Matt, accused his father of sexually molesting him as a child. Both Matt and Jeffrey are adopted.

There are many potential explanations here about why Jeffrey allegedly turned out like Jerry, but it’s probably a bad idea to rush to assumptions. We’ll see what evidence emerges in court and continue to follow a truly devastating story.
