The Charlotte 49ers softball team won the 2023 Conference USA regular-season championship, and while they fell short of winning the C-USA Tournament, they still learned magnificent news on Sunday. For the first time ever in program history, Charlotte Softball will participate in the NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. And the team learned of its historic achievement on Selection Sunday.

The team posted their celebration video from the moment it happened. Unsurprisingly, it quickly went viral.

The video fielded over 110,000 views on Twitter. Additionally, it’s received hundreds of likes and 100+ retweets.

“Two iconic reaction videos in a week!!! This team is special!!” said former Charlotte player Spenser Gray.

“INSANE,” remarked Charlotte infielder Ashleigh Washington.

Niners infielder Kass Krupit then said “It’s go time. Couldn’t be more proud of this time.”

Assistant softball coach Taylor Wike also chimed in. Wike said, “Proud is an understatement.”

“Great day to be a Niner,” a future Charlotte signee said.

The head coach, Ashley Chastain, left a mark herself. She said, “This moment makes my heart explode with immense joy for these players, our staff, our fans, and our entire program. It’s hard to put into words… I’ll do my very best later but for now let’s go dancing @CharlotteSB @NCAASoftball Durham here we come!”

Quite the day and quite the moment for the Charlotte softball team!
