It’s March and the TCU Horned Frogs have momentum at the perfect time.

After a close win against No. 9 Texas Tech last Saturday, TCU took on the Kansas Jayhawks and was in control for most of the second half as the Horned Frogs won 74-64. TCU sealed the victory thanks to Damion Baugh going 7 for 8 from the free throw line in the last minute of the game.

The win puts TCU at 19-9 overall but an 8-8 conference record is cause for concern if they want an NCAA Tournament spot. Sitting at 4-4 against top 25 teams, TCU is also 2-3 against top 10 teams and those wins came within the last three days. With a rematch in Lawrence on Thursday, another win would further strengthen their argument.

For Kansas, undergoing back-to-back losses will be a rather sizable dent in their hopes for a top seed in March Madness. Their only hope is that with other top teams suffering big losses, everyone is kind of in the same boat. That being said, Kansas will probably want to get revenge on TCU and then win the Big 12 Tournament if they want to break out of the pack and get a top seed.

Social media had a wide range of reactions and takes about the game. From Kansas not being a No. 1 seed to TCU being a tournament team to the Kansas loss helping their own team, it ran the gamut.
