The Clemson Tigers have proven themselves to be a powerhouse in the world of college softball, which continued on Friday as they improved to 35-1 on the season (11-0 in ACC play).

The Tigers continued their winning ways on Friday thanks to a clutch home run off the bat of junior outfielder McKenzie Clark in the second game of a doubleheader against Boston College. Clemson entered the fifth inning down 3-2 before Clark doubled and was eventually driven home by two-way superstar Valerie Cagle, who tied the game with her team-leading 37th RBI of the season.

Tied at 3 apiece in the top of the sixth, Clark broke the tie with her ninth home run of the season to give Clemson a 6-3 lead. The Tigers would tack on another run before finishing off the Eagles to sweep the twin bill.

The official NCAA Softball account tweeted about Clark’s big home run

“Things you love to see: A three-run go-ahead (bomb),” the NCAA softball account tweeted.

“MCKENZIE CLARK LETS FREAKING GO,” tweeted one Clemson softball fan.

“MCKENZIE CLARK YOUR JOKING,” tweeted another Clemson fan.

Clark’s mother, Carrie, who played volleyball at Jackson University, sent out multiple tweets in support of her daughter’s huge home run.
