Crashing interviews is nothing new, but a college softball interview went hilariously wrong after a team bombarded their teammate with a ton of water.
Texas Tech earned a massive 10-8 win over 18th-ranked Baylor on Friday night. The Red Raiders improved to 19-15 on the season as they look to maneuver their way up the Big XII ladder.
Sophomore outfielder Demi Elder was the star of the game. Elder belted the go-ahead three-run home run that later sent Texas Tech into the win column. The media interviewed the outfielder after the game. Her teammates took notice of this and decided to prank her. The results were hilarious.
Championship victory-style! Several of Elder’s Texas Tech softball teammates snuck up on her. Then they doused her with small Gatorade bottles filled with water, and some poured over an entire jug.

Elder took off, drenched in the water, away from her teammates. They laughed and skedaddled from the scene.
The cameraman, Mason Horodyski, joked afterward that they “protected that camera with my life.”

If the camera were affected, that would have gone even more hilariously wrong.
The Red Raiders also made history in the game. Elder’s home run was the 67th home run of the season. That mark breaks the Texas Tech college softball single-season record for home runs in a season by a team.
