Lost in the shuffle of the NFL’s Week 5, Dodgers-Nationals Game 2 and even Georgia-South Carolina, Florida Atlantic hosted Charlotte this afternoon in a game rescheduled due to Hurricane Matthew. Not many people will have seen the ending, but we have it for you right here on The Comeback, and it’s one not to be missed.

That would be FAU completing a Hail Mary with no time left on the clock down five to win the game against the 49ers and move their record to 2-5. Except for one thing… the intended receiver Kamrin Solomon was out of bounds. The play was initially called a TD on the field, but then overturned on review. Poor Owls.

But this ending is notable for another reason: Charlotte just picked up their first win as a member of C-USA in their 10th try doing so. They transitioned from FCS to FBS fully just last year, and went 0-8 in conference and 2-10 overall in 2015. This year they had started 1-4, but just picked up their first ever win in C-USA play.

Heartbreak for the Owls, but joy for the 49ers. Aren’t you happy you’ve seen this ending now?
