Florida State Seminoles softball star Kat Sandercock added to her list of accomplishments on Friday night. The celebrated hurler broke a single-season AND all-time program record for most saves for a softball pitcher!
Sandercock scored the safe in FSU’s miraculous 6-3 victory. In doing so, she recorded her sixth save of the season and the 14th of her bright career. Both marks are the best for the FSU softball single-season and all-time record books.
“With tonight’s save, Kat is now the SCHOOL RECORD HOLDER for career saves and saves in a single season!!!!” the Florida State Softball tweet exclaimed.

FSU softball is one of the top programs in the nation. So the fact that Sandercock set the record is an achievement in itself. She is one of the sport’s brightest stars and has succeeded in the circle and then some. At the rate she’s going, she’ll be a Seminole legend for life.
Sandercock and the Seminoles improved to 38-8 and an ACC-best 15-2 with their victory over Virginia Tech Friday night. The ‘Noles are 7-1 in ACC road games, proving to be formidable no matter where they hit the field. And VaTech is no slouch either. The 22nd-ranked Hokies have a 33-14 record even after Friday night’s defeat.
So, hats off to Kat Sandercock of the Florida State Seminoles softball team! May she continue to make history.
