On Monday, a huge SEC showdown between two softball powers gave up a home run absolutely worth admiring.

The No. 16 Georgia Bulldogs were taking on the No. 11 Tennessee Volunteers in Athens and leading 2-1 in the bottom of the first when Georgia’s Lacey Fincher decided to single-handedly extend that lead by launching an epic home run over the left-field wall.

It is one of those home runs that simply needs to be seen (and heard) to be appreciated.

You can hear each and every one of the 1,997 fans in attendance at Jack Turner Stadium going wild for that dinger.

Georgia would go on to cruise to victory with a 12-4 finish. Fincher would get a second home run later in the day, this time to the opposite side of the field.

No surprise, she was named SEC Player of the Week for her efforts. The Bulldogs improved to 33-8 on the season and 7-5 in SEC play.

Still, all anyone wanted to talk about afterward was that absolutely demolished home run, which went viral on social media.

Guess we’re all Lacey Fincher fans from here on out. We’ll keep an eye on how Georgia does in the SEC Tournament and NCAA Tournament as there are likely many more home runs ahead.
