It seems a new trend is picking up speed in the state of Texas. Following an announcement that Texas and Corona are now officially business partners, Houston has announced its new corporate sponsorship deal with Bud Light.
The new deal announced by the University of Houston runs through 2021 between the the University of Houston, Houston-based distributor Silver Eagle Distributors, Anheuser-Busch, and IMG. The deal will cover Houston football, basketball, and baseball for the duration of the contract, offering Bud Light at concession stands at Houston’s athletics venues.

The deal for Anheuser-Busch will allow the beer company to take advantage of Houston’s logos and imagery to promote their product to Houston fans, including beverage deals and possible promotional events centered around Houston’s athletics programs. The Bud Light Beer Garden will also be opened up before and during football games and baseball games in addition to being the main beer option inside the stadiums. A party deck in the football stadium will also feature Bud Light.
It is unknown how much revenue Houston will get from the new deal at this time. Earlier this month, the University of Texas became the first school to announce a sponsorship deal with a beer company with a new partnership with Corona. Like Houston’s Bud Light deal, Texas will feature Corona inside the football stadium and a Corona-themed pregame party will take place prior to all home football games. Get ready for more of these types of deals to follow, because the door has been busted down and the precedent has been set.
All I want to know is when Houston is going to get Pitbull to show up for a free concert at the next Houston football game.
