The finish to the North Carolina-Villanova national championship game… wow. Just, wow. I’m honestly having a hard time even typing this because I’m like shaking in shock from what just happened.
With 4.6 seconds left, North Carolina’s Marcus Paige somehow hit this double-clutch three in between two Villanova defenders to tie the game 74-74. Fittingly, this shot looked a bit like a lefty version of former Tar Heel Michael Jordan hitting “The Shot” over Craig Ehlo.
But Villanova’s Kris Jenkins immediately had an answer, and one that college basketball fans will never forget.
Watch Jenkins drain this three at the buzzer to give the Wildcats the national championship:
Unreal. That sequence was so amazing, and with Bill Raftery’s “ONIONS!” on the call? Just perfect.
That will go down as one of the greatest sequences in college basketball history. Especially with Raftery on the call.

The best final 10 seconds in 78 national championship games.
We’ve seen singular great shots, but tonight, we had TWO.
