On Saturday, six Notre Dame players were arrested. Cornerback Devin Butler was charged with battery to law enforcement and resisting law enforcement.

Along with Butler, senior safety Max Redfield, sophomore linebacker Te’von Coney, sophomore running back Dexter Williams, redshirt freshman cornerback Ashton White. and freshman wide receiver Kevin Stepherson were all arrested and received charges for possession of marijuana. Redfield, Stepherson, and Williams also got charges for possession of a handgun without a license.

Notre Dame undoubtedly wants their players to be on their best behavior. Nowadays with social media so prevalent, it’s not uncommon for people to dig back for old tweets, especially when you’re in the news. So of course, it appears that the school is having players delete old tweets.

There may not be anything to hide, but you really don’t know what a player may have said in the past. Surely they don’t care to risk anything, especially after what happened this past weekend.

At the same time, perhaps they should do a better job of covering it up. You can do it discreetly, after all.
