Jameis Winston

After Jimbo Fisher’s pregame speech (and probably the first half too) caused FSU’s head coach to lose his voice, the Noles needed someone else to come in and give motivation for the team to climb out of the gigantic hole they’ve dug themselves in.

Luckily, Heisman winner and national champion Jameis Winston was on the sideline and stepped in. And thanks to Showtime’s behind the scenes show following the Seminoles around, we have a clip of that speech.

Highlights include Winston saying, “we some dogs, we ain’t no puppies” (because every football team is full of dogs, apparently), “we got the best damn running back in the whole damn league” (referring to Dalvin Cook, who didn’t have his best of games last night but his position as one of college’s best won’t be disputed), and Jameis reminding his offensive line of the tongue lashing they probably got from their coach, Rick Trickett.

“O-Line, wake up. Y’all been in that war, y’all got the hardest coach… Coach Trickett getting yo’ ass, and I know ain’t nobody from Mississippi getting yo’ ass like Coach Trickett. Hell no.”

The speech worked, because the Noles turned around a 22 point second quarter deficit to win and held the Rebels offense to -7 yards total in the third quarter. And if this clip is any evidence, the Showtime show this week is going to be interesting TV.

Florida State plays Charleston Southern at home this Sunday, and it’s doubtful they’ll have as much trouble with the Buccaneers (not Jameis’ group) as they did with the Rebels.
