Jim Harbaugh, The Simpsons star

There is no subject that is off limits for the writers of The Simpsons, including the sports world. On Sunday night’s episode of the long-standing animated hit, The Simpsons cracked a joke about none other than Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh seemed to enjoy simply being mentioned on the show, because any publicity is good publicity, right?

In the episode, Homer Simpson tells his wife, Marge, that a character in the show is like a sports genius that everybody hates. Marge replies, “Like Jim Harbaugh?”

Zing!

Harbaugh has Michigan off to an undefeated season in his second season on the job in Ann Arbor and has ruffled more than enough feathers with his way of running the program with satellite camps and sleeping over with recruits and taking the whole team to Florida over spring break for spring football practices. When you are being paid $9 million, you stop at nothing to build the best possible team you can, and Harbaugh has certainly done that this fall.

Of course, this had to come back to the Michigan head coach for a reaction, and he just loved it.

“People have been making sport of me ever since I can remember, ever since my earliest memories,” Harbaugh said. “Five, six, seven — in the schoolyard. My whole life, they make sport of me. But it’s pretty high class — The Simpsons! I stepped up! It’s one of my favorite shows. I love The Simpsons. The animated shows, The Simpsons and Sponge Bob are two of my all time favorites.”

Of course Harbaugh loves SpongeBob Squarepants.
