Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh is apparently wasting no time getting busy generating buzz on the recruiting trail for the Class of 2017. The man who would climb a tree, sleep over at a recruit’s home and sit back for a Netflix binge just to make ground on securing a verbal commitment that later transforms to a signed letter of intent is hitting taking to the mats hard for the Class of 2017. Harbaugh reportedly wrestled with a Class of 2017 recruit, and he apparently did not take it easy on the kid.

Harbaugh wrestled with in-state recruit Phillip Paea, who plays both defensive tackle and offensive guard, on Wednesday night. Why Wednesday night? Well, as you no doubt know by now, Harbaugh was soaking in some Monday Night Raw earlier this week. Maybe he took a couple of pointers while ringside at the WWE event. Whatever the case, Harbaugh apparently took the victory against a player he hopes one day to coach.

Hold on one second while I double check the Jim Harbaugh Recruiting To-Do List… nope, not there. Guess we’ll have to add that one to the list!

Harbaugh is certainly a fan of wrestling. Earlier this month he invited Ric Flair to be a part of Michigan’s signing day charity event, which also included Tom Brady and Derek Jeter. He also wants to see Wrestlemania be held at Michigan Stadium, the largest stadium in the United States. Personally, I’d prefer to see the Royal Rumble be held in Michigan Stadium because you know Harbaugh is going to be one of the surprise entrants. Heck, he might even win it.
