When President Joe Biden calls somebody, the recipient usually answers the phone.

But that wasn’t the case recently when Biden phoned Connecticut Huskies men’s basketball coach Dan Hurley to congratulate him on his team’s newest NCAA Tournament championship.

“It doesn’t come up on your caller ID like Joe Biden,” Hurley hilariously told The Athletic. “I just assumed when the president calls, it would be someone interrupting your call saying, ‘The president is on the line.'”

Unlike the scheduling snafu around the LSU Tigers’ visit to the White House thanks to off-handed remarks by First Lady Jill Biden, the Huskies were quick to agree to a trip to honor their work on May 26th.

“In a year when March Madness often lived up to its name, both our women’s champions, LSU, and men’s champions, Connecticut, showed us the best of what this country can be,” Biden said in a tweet thread.

“UConn men’s basketball returned to glory with a series of dominant performances that were often incredible to watch. Congratulations to the team for building a program that is set up to build on that success. And maybe I’ll see you next time I’m back up on campus.”

This is the fifth national champion in the history of the UConn men’s basketball program.
