When you think of Johnny Manziel these days, you probably think of him as an NFL and CFL bust who never lived up to the hype. It’s easy to forget how great he was when he was the quarterback at Texas A&M. Not only did he lead the Aggies to an upset win over Alabama but he won the Heisman Trophy and was named a Consensus All-American.
Manziel hasn’t forgotten those glory days and he’s recently said that he would love the chance to be part of the Aggies program once more.
Johnny Manziel says he misses his old stomping grounds … telling TMZ Sports he'd love the opportunity to be a part of the Texas A&M football program again. https://t.co/IKuV0NSC7A

“I don’t think I’m the same player I used to be,” Johnny told TMZ.com during a discussion about his participation in Fan Controlled Football. “I think I still have flashes, but I’m looking at what’s next in my life and I want sports and football to be something that is gonna be a mainstay in my life for a long time.
“Now, it’s figuring out where exactly that’s gonna be — whether it’s continuing to work with the FCF or something I’m really interested in as well is going back to Texas A&M and being a part of my school, or the program or whatever it is.
Manziel doesn’t have much in the way of coaching experience but there’s certainly something to be said for having him around as an ambassador for the program. While his reputation might not be the best in most places, Johnny is certainly still revered in College Station. It’s hard to imagine Jimbo Fisher wouldn’t at least want Manziel to show up to a couple of practices and shake hands with recruits from time to time.
I've always said Manziel would be an amazing A&M ambassador for fundraising or recruiting. He should also give a speech to every new recruiting class about the highs and lows of success. https://t.co/APme70jKGv

We’ll see if the Aggies do invite Johnny Football back anytime soon. Given all the attention surrounding their recent recruiting class and major transfers, though, they might just want to avoid adding any further spotlights on the football team until the season gets underway.
