A full-on brawl broke out under the basket to conclude Tuesday night’s Kansas-Kansas State college basketball game in Lawrence.
The game was already *over* for all intents and purposes, when Kansas State freshman DeJuan Gordon tried to go up for a layup in the final seconds of the game… trailing 81-59. But Kansas sophomore Silvio De Sousa (emphatically) rejected the meaningless layup, and then things got out of control.
Here’s how it looked on the ESPN broadcast:

This particularly looks awful for De Sousa, who’s seen trying to use a chair as a weapon (WWE style).
This is the image that you should never see in a college basketball game, no matter what happened before it. Brutal. Serious punishments likely to follow. Photo by @nickkrug #KUbball pic.twitter.com/FC6FAwkwzZ

Kansas ultimately won 81-60, but that’s obviously secondary in the grand scheme of things to how the game concluded, and there’s sure to be some punishment coming for the brawl (especially for De Sousa).
