Saturday is a huge, huge day for the Louisville Cardinals football program.

For the first time, ESPN’s College Gameday will be on set at Louisville for the Cardinals’ showdown against No. 2 Florida State.

It will also be the 2-0 — and No. 10 ranked in the AP poll — Cardinals’ first game against a top-25 opponent this year, and against a Seminoles team that is expected to be a contender for the College Football Playoff. For Louisville to have a shot at the College Football Playoff, this is a game they have to have.

And it will be an opportunity for sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson — owner of 13 touchdowns and some incredible touchdowns — to make a huge Heisman statement.

So, there’s a lot at stake on Saturday for Louisville, and they want to show up for the big game in style, feeling fresh. They will be doing so in these brand-new red chrome helmets:

Quite fancy, and certainly shiny. It will be interesting to see just how shiny they look on television Saturday, and hopefully not too much to distract from what should be an awesome game.
