Derrius Guice has shown plenty of power on the field, and he’s showing that in the weight room too. On Friday, Guice squatted an impressive 650 pounds in LSU’s weight room. Here’s one view of it:
LSU FOOTBALL CAMP watched @DhaSickest lift 650lbs was so impressed. @TigerDroppings here it is from the front! No help!! #beastmode #lsu pic.twitter.com/3yRDIqxKF0

It’s not the first remarkable lift from Guice, who squatted 583 pounds back in March:

Guice has been excellent on the field in his first two seasons, picking up 436 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 51 attempts in his freshman season of 2015 (8.5 yards per carry) and collecting 1,387 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns on 183 attempts (7.6 yards per carry) last season, when he got more playing time thanks to injuries to Leonard Fournette. And he clearly has some workout skills too. Just lifting a ton of weight doesn’t mean anything in its own right, but it’s cool to watch, and it also demonstrates just how much power Guice can provide.
