Seinfeld co-creator and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Larry David said earlier in the week on The Dan Patrick Show that he thinks he has what it takes to be an offensive coordinator:

“I’m positive I could be an offensive coordinator,” David said. “All I have to do is — I think if I just studied, if I just hung around and just learned a little bit. Give me one season shadowing an offensive coordinator and I know I could do it.”

“What could be so hard about it?” David asked. “You make up plays! Why is that so hard, okay? I’m creative in certain respects and I think I could do that. I think I can!”

Well, if David really wants to give coaching a try, there’s some prettyyyy, prettyyyyyyy, pretty good news coming out of Eugene, Oregon.

University of Oregon head football coach Mark Helfrich told the media on Thursday that David has an open invitation to join the Ducks’ coaching staff:

“We would welcome with open arms Larry David to come on out and shadow Coach [Matt] Lubick (Oregon’s offensive coordinator), and dip his toe in the coaching waters.”

“Larry, come on out, you’re welcome to stay with me; you can probably afford something better. But come on out.”

Go for it, Larry. This actually sounds like a great premise for a Curb episode (with a Season 9 on the way) if nothing else.
