Despite an 11-0 run by Western Kentucky to close out the game, the Marshall Thundering Herd held on to to win 67-66 in the Conference USA title game Saturday night in Frisco, TX.

Marshall is dancing for the first time since 1987.

The Thundering Herd were led by junior guard Jon Elmore, who scored 27 points (and is averaging 22.6 points on the season).

Marshall (24-10; 12-6) enters the tournament red-hot with four straight wins (11 of their last 13), including a road win over Middle Tennessee (a bubble team who was ranked No. 24 in the country at the time of the game).
