The Miami Hurricanes shocked the college football world back in December when they announced they were firing head coach Manny Diaz and replacing him with Oregon head coach Mario Cristobal.
This hiring was the first of many moves that have fans hoping that Miami can return to the football powerhouse they once were.
Since Cristobal’s hiring, he has made a number of impressive moves, including bringing in former Michigan offensive coordinator Josh Gattis as well as Auburn defensive coordinator Kevin Steele to serve in those positions for the Canes. Cristobal wasn’t done there, as there is reportedly another very interesting addition to his staff announced on Thursday.
NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor is joining the Miami staff as an off-field analyst. Taylor is widely remembered as a legend in the South Florida area for his career with the Miami Dolphins, where he played for 13 years. Taylor has not yet coached at the college level but does have some experience as a defensive coordinator at the high school level at St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale.
The reports about Taylor have Hurricanes fans excited for the expertise that he can provide to the team going forward.

It looks like Cristobal is surrounding himself with as much football knowledge as possible. On paper, the head coach is clearly doing everything in his power to restore Miami to its glory days as soon as possible.
