Miguel Santos just turned in the performance of his life at the plate for DBU, which just helped lift his team over in a massive NCAA Tournament upset.
Santos and Dallas Baptist just eliminated the nationally-seeded Oklahoma State Cowboys from the NCAA Baseball Tournament. DBU defeated the Cowboys by and large because Santos was a terror. He crushed three home runs and drove in nine runs en route to the decisive 18-4 victory. A victory that sent the Cowboys back to their nearby homes in Stillwater.

Santos’ prodigious performance saw him go 4-for-6 out of the 5-spot in the lineup, and he recorded four runs scored himself. Kodie Kolden also went 4-for-6 at the plate and dropped in with two home runs of his own.
In fact, in the 4th, Kolden, Nathan Humphreys, and Santos went back-to-back-to-back!
Oral Roberts had put Oklahoma State on the brink of elimination with a 6-4 win on Friday. So DBU stepped up after losing 9-5 to Washington and pulled off the stunning upset. They can thank Miguel Santos now for putting them in a position to potentially move to the Super Regionals.
They will have their work cut out for them though, as they’ll have to win their next three games to stave off elimination. Miguel Santos and DBU will play either Oral Roberts or Washington on Sunday afternoon.
