Life-threatening injuries are the absolute worst-case scenarios for sporting events, and today at Raleigh’s PNC Arena, we had that play out.
NC State was hosting South Carolina State when a South Carolina State player went down with an apparent medical emergency.
South Carolina State player now lying on the ground unresponsive. Medical team looking at him as players fan him with towels.

South Carolina State coaches and players are crying on the sidelines. EMT crew waiting for player to respond. Player's mother also screaming, "Oh my God don't die!" Terrifying scene here at PNC Arena.

Eventually, the player in question (identified as Ty Solomon) was taken out on a stretcher. There was a lengthy delay, before South Carolina State players voted to return to the court:

And then, finally, some good news:
South Carolina State's Ty Solomon has been taken to Rex Hospital. Crowd erupts when told he has is conscious and stable.

That’st clearly the best way it could have ended, though it’s unfortunate that it had to happen to begin with. Hopefully Solomon makes a full and quick recovery.
