The No. 25 Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns took down the Appalachian State Mountaineers 24-21 on Friday night, and it’s actually pretty incredible that Louisiana won- considering how awful their long-snapping was all game on special teams (App State was also a three-point favorite).

It was an absolute nightmare night for Louisiana long snapper Paul Boudreaux, who had three snaps go over the punter’s head, and another snap that resulted in a failed extra-point try for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Here are the four horrible snaps:

Things were so bad in this department that, instead of lining up to punt on 4th-and-2 with a 24-19 lead and under two minutes remaining, Louisiana head coach Billy Napier chose to have quarterback Levi Lewis intentionally run back 35 yards to take a safety, cutting the Ragin Cajuns’ lead to three points.

And App State was then in position to tie the game in the final seconds, but the special teams fortune finally went in Louisiana’s favor. App State’s Chandler Staton missed a 30-yard field goal that was partially blocked, giving Louisiana a 24-21 victory.

Nobody is happier about that miss than Paul Boudreaux.
