The championship spirit has returned to Chicago once again. The Cubs’ victory parade was the largest human gathering in the history of the Western Hemisphere, and if you close your eyes and listen closely you can probably hear faint chants of “Go Cubs Go” coming all the way from the Windy City.
So, of course, it should come as no surprise that the Northwestern band gave a Cubs tribute during halftime against No. 8 Wisconsin on Saturday:

Now that the Cubs have ended their curse, Chicago’s other hapless, lovable losers are hoping their time is coming shortly too. Still, the Cubs winning a title is one thing, Northwestern winning one is something entirely different:

I’m not sure sports luck is subject to the transference effect, but Northwestern is gonna try, dammit.
The Wildcats lost to Wisconsin, 21-7.
