Already, folks are trying to recreate the greatest play in Northwestern basketball history.

Our first imitation comes courtesy of Northwestern quarterback Clayton Thorson and superback Cameron Green, as they tried to recreate the miracle by classmates Nathan Taphorn and Dererk Pardon inside Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Thorson, who had a record-setting year for Northwestern this past fall, couldn’t complete the 88-foot pass with a basketball. Once he had a football in his hands though, it was a piece of cake.

I’m still waiting for Chris Collins to work some Duke connections here. He’s got to get Grant Hill and Christian Laettner to give it an attempt, too.
