There are many ways to lose a football game and Ole Miss may have found one of the dumber ways to earn a loss. Behind rival Mississippi State 21-14 late in the fourth quarter, quarterback Matt Corral completed a pass to Elijah Moore on third down to put Ole Miss needing the extra point to tie the game and go into overtime.

That was until Moore decided to celebrate by lifting his leg and simulating peeing like a dog and earning an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. And because of the penalty, kicker Luke Logan missed the PAT and Ole Miss lost the Egg Bowl 21-20.

Don’t get me wrong, the celebration was amusing and it’s a nice dig on the rival Bulldogs but come on. That’s definitely going to be a 15-yard penalty and while it’s still a makable kick, the kicker probably would’ve preferred to be closer to the goal posts.

In the end, this will go down as one of those “don’t count your chickens until they hatch” type of sequences. No matter if you think you’re going to tie or win, don’t celebrate until you know. Otherwise, that’s going to come back and bite you.
