Pat McAfee has his own daily show plus WWE SmackDown on his docket but now he will be adding College GameDay to his schedule.
It was revealed late Tuesday night that the former Indianapolis Colts punter will be a full-time member of College GameDay and will begin this weekend in Austin as the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide faces the Texas Longhorns.
All in all, this should be a good move for McAfee and ESPN. While people of all ages watch college football, it makes some sense to have someone who is popular with a college crowd. And given some of the stuff he does on SmackDown, it’s obvious he’ll bring a fun atmosphere to college campuses all over the country every Saturday morning during the fall.
McAfee said that he’ll have more details about this on Wednesday’s Pat McAfee Show but people all over social media reacted to the news.
Smart move by ESPN.
Corso’s age and Herbstreit’s schedule with Amazon. Plausibly the last year for one or both.
McAfee brings some audience. Younger demos which Gameday wants (Jack Harlow picking/performing lol).
Going to be real interesting seeing them blend him in https://t.co/vjtxTbov9y

Pat McAfee is the new Michael Strahan – dude has more jobs than I can even count.
Good to see fun, unique people, who stay true to themselves, have a ton of success.
Looking forward to watching him on GameDay ✊️ https://t.co/30SORTvSvh

Hardest working man in show biz and Pat puts out only good energy. I absolutely love all the success he is having. #ForTheBrand https://t.co/E1mPWr8uag

I should have been a punter…an athletic punter with a high motor. My man has no CTE and Scrooge McDuck money at this point. https://t.co/AvSqkhUpLt
