Did you know there is a college football player named Pig Cage? It’s true. He used to play for the LSU Tigers, but now Pig Cage is entering the transfer portal, which means your favorite college team could feature a guy named Pig Cage very, very soon.

Cage made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday morning.

“This was an experience I will always cherish and never forget,” Cage wrote. “But at this moment in time, this is the best decision for me to be able to pursue my dreams. I have entered the transfer portal.”

Cage is the second LSU defender to enter the transfer portal in two days, joining linebacker Josh White. While Cage didn’t play too much this past season, he did see a lot of action in the Texas Bowl, where the cornerback garnered six tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack.

The sophomore came to LSU from Nicholls State before last season. He was considered a three-star recruit when he originally committed there, garnering 30 tackles, including 11 for loss, in his one season at Nicholls where he was named an FCS Freshman All-American.

But let’s face it, we’re all just here because the guy’s name is Pig Cage. Alas, his given name is Quinton. We don’t know the story behind being nicknamed “Pig” but we also are fine not knowing. And as far as we can tell, the guy is known as Pig, so that’s what we’re calling him too. And clearly, lots of people took notice of his name, many of whom wondered how he didn’t end up playing for Arkansas.

We’ll see where Pig ends up but. We all hope it will be Arkansas, but something tells us there are plenty of fanbases who would love to be able to yell “Pig Cage!” on Saturdays.
